On the night of July 3, 2025, at approximately 00:30–00:40 CEST, Jota and his brother André Silva were driving a Lamborghini Huracán on Spain's A-52 motorway near Cernadilla, Zamora, heading from Porto to Santander to catch a ferry 


A tire blowout during an overtaking maneuver caused the vehicle to veer off-road, crash, and burst into flames, killing both instantly .


Personal Tragedy

Born December 4, 1996, in Porto, Jota was just 28 years old 


He had married long-time partner Rute Cardoso on June 22, 2025, and was a devoted father to three young children.


Football Career & Achievements

Club Journey

Paços de Ferreira – professional debut in 2014.


Signed by Atlético Madrid in 2016, but promptly loaned to Porto.


Joined Wolverhampton Wanderers on loan in 2017, helped them win the Championship and promotion; transferred permanently in 2018 .


Moved to Liverpool in September 2020 for approx. €41–45 million .
